So you think this year is flying by, huh? Well, being that life kind of moved at a slow pace during the first year of COVID-19, I can see why it feels like this year moved like an Indy 500 Race. People are tired of feeling anxiety about “is it safe yet” and jumped into 2021 with a desire to get back to that feeling of normalcy again. Oh, but wait a minute! We must get a grip on the newness of it all and embrace a new FOCUS2.0 mindset.
Grab your planner or notebook and write down these 7 steps that will Spark your Start to execute an effective way of staying focused while increasing your “Getting it Done” Power.
Plan out your goals in Quarters/Seasons instead of yearly. This will help you create a more concise list that is easier to break down into daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Doing this creates more realistic goals, more consistent tasks, and an attitude that wants it more than feeling like you have to do it.
Now that you’ve created a plan of the goals you want to accomplish in the first quarter/season, it’s now time to prioritize them by most important to least important.
Hold yourself Accountable by joining a team of other like-minded individuals wanting to create the same habits of consistency. One that I love because it's more fun than work is Achieve BET.
Be Mindful of what works for you and find your own FOCUS groove to accomplishing your goals. Some like a quiet, calm environment. Others may work better with soft music and candles and some can FOCUS in a high-paced, chaotic environment. It's up to you to find your FOCUS groove.
Don’t forget about YOU! Make time for taking breaks, having fun, relaxing, and not taking things too seriously. FOCUS2.0 requires a healthy mental mindset and that starts with self-care on a Mental, Physical, and Spiritual level.
Practice daily to train your FOCUS2.0 muscles. They will strengthen over time and before you know it, you’ll have some lifetime habits that you cannot live without.
Be the Visionary of your FOCUS2.0 Success!!! See it! Believe it! Do it! Share it! Repeat it!
